How to Get a Canon Pixma MP160 to Scan Pictures to the Original Size

If your Canon Pixma MP160 All-in-One is scanning pictures at an enlarged or reduced size, it's because the settings have been tweaked. Once the settings are changed, they do not revert back to the default. It's possible someone inadvertently changed the preset scan ratio, or you may have done it to scan a particular photo and forgot about it. Either way, you can change the settings to scan pictures to the original size, instead of enlarged or reduced.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Copy" button on the Canon's front control panel, then press "Menu" until "Reduce/Enlarge" appears in the display window.

    • 2

Press the "Ok" button, and then press the "Forward" (>) or "Back" (<) arrows to change the preset ratio to 100 percent.

    • 3

Press "Ok" to save your changes. The picture you scan will be its original size (as well as other pictures you decide to scan).

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to change the ratio at a later time, simply go back to the menu and select the size. You can choose 25, 70, 86, 100, 115, 141 or 400 percent. You can also select a custom ratio (in between the presets) by using the keypad. For example, you could type "200" if you wanted to scan at 200 percent.
