1
Look over the ceramic slip cast green ware stock on the shelves. Look for shallow bowl or plate forms. Purchase one that has a pleasing shape. Remember that the inside of the ceramic form will create the outside profile of your slumped glass piece.

2
Place a 1/4 inch drill bit into an electric drill. Set the purchased green ware piece on a scrap piece of board. Place the drill bit on the bottom inside surface of the green ware form and carefully drill a hole all the way through the bottom of the form. Drill four to six holes. These holes will allow air to escape when the glass gets hot enough to slump.

Put the ceramic green ware form in a kiln and bisque fire it between 1,915 to 1,971 degrees F for six to eight hours. Let the kiln cool slowly for 12 hours. The bisque fired form is now ready to be used as glass slump mold.

Tips & Warnings
Stay away from slip cast forms that are deep like a cup. The glass won't slump that much.
Slip cast green ware is fragile, so take great care not to break the form when drilling holes into it.
