How to Paint a Shower Stall

Things You'll Need

  • TSP cleaner
  • Coarse brush
  • 120-grit silicone carbide wet/dry sandpaper
  • Blue painter's tape
  • 4-inch latex paintbrush
  • 5-gallon bucket
  • Latex bonding primer
  • Epoxy paint
  • Wooden stir stick

Instructions

      Clean your shower stall using TSP cleaner and a coarse brush.

      Rinse the stall thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely.

      Abrade the surface of your shower stall by gently sanding it with 120-grit silicone carbide wet/dry sandpaper to encourage paint adhesion.

      Rinse your shower with water, and allow the surface to dry.

      Apply blue painter's tape to areas of the shower stall and wall edges you don't want painted.

      Apply bonding primer to the surface of your shower stall using a latex paintbrush. Allow the surface to dry for three hours.

      Clean your brush with water.

      Mix the epoxy resin with the catalyst in the 5-gallon bucket with a wooden stir stick. Apply the epoxy paint in the same manner as you did the primer.
