A pulley on an engine is the device that powers the drive belt on the front of the engine. Pulleys on the engine are connected and secured to the engine by a nut in the middle of the pulley. Once the securing nut is tightened, the engine pulley will be securely in place on the engine.

Instructions

      Open the hood of the vehicle that needs the engine pulley mounted. Locate the place on the engine where the engine pulley needs to be mounted. Locate the bolt sticking out of the engine that the engine pulley will be supported by.

      Place the engine pulley onto the bolt sticking out of the engine. Push the engine pulley all the way back onto the bolt.

      Twist the securing nut on the bolt to secure the engine pulley to the engine. The securing nut will be in the package that the pulley came in.

      Place the engine pulley tool over the engine pulley. Place the securing nut on the pulley support bolt in the connecting hole on the engine pulley tool. Connect the power drill to the engine pulley tool. Tighten the tip on the power drill using the key that came with the power drill.

      Use the power drill to tighten the securing nut on the engine pulley to secure the pulley to the engine.

Tips & Warnings

  • To avoid serious burns, allow the engine to completely cool before you start to work.
