How to Volunteer As a Math Tutor
Volunteering as a tutor is a great way to gain work experience while helping students to learn and achieve their full potential in a particular subject area. To volunteer as a math tutor, you must have an excellent understanding of the subject and the ability to teach others how to master the steps and logic involved in solving mathematical problems. According to SEDL National Center for Quality Afterschool, as a math tutor, you will work with students and teachers to identify areas of weakness and design teaching sessions that help students improve their math skills in these areas.
