How to Program a Chrysler 300M Garage Door Opener

by Leonardo R. Grabkowski

The Chrysler 300M (not to be confused with the 2005 to 2010 Chrysler 300) came standard with a Homelink garage door system. This system is mounted on the Chrysler's headliner, above the rearview mirror.

You can program this system to your garage door. However, the process is different in garage doors manufactured after 1996. If your garage door was made after 1996, you'll need to complete Section 1 and Section 2. If your garage door was made prior to 1996, simply complete Section 1.

Pre-1996 Garage Doors

Step 1

Park your 300M in your driveway, directly in front of the garage door. Locate your garage door handheld remote. Turn the ignition to "On" (engine off).

Step 2

Press and hold the two outside buttons on your overhead Homelink system, until the light begins flashing (approximately 20 seconds).

Step 3

Hold the remote transmitter next to the Homelink system (1 to 3 inches away). Press and hold the Homelink button you want to program to the garage door, and then press and hold the button on the remote transmitter.

Step 4

Continue to hold the buttons, keeping the transmitter next to the Homelink system. The indicator light will begin to flash slowly. After a minute or two, it will begin flashing rapidly. When it flashes rapidly, the Homelink button is programmed.

Post-1996 Garage Doors (Rolling Code)

Step 1

Follow the procedure outlined in Section 1, and then immediately walk into your garage. Locate the "Learn" or "Training" button on your garage door motor.

Step 2

Press and hold the button for approximately 20 seconds, until the training light turns on. Quickly go back to your 300M.

Step 3

Press and release the button you want to program on your Homelink system, and then press and release it again.
