How to Transfer Music on a Rant Phone to Ringtones

Need to set a new ringtone?

The Samsung Rant phone from Sprint allows users the option of setting their own ringtones in either MP3 or MIDI music formats by transferring their music to their ringtones folder; it also offers over 70 standard polyphonic ringtones. With Web browsing and mobile email options, Rant users can download music or email music files to themselves for storing on their phone's microSD card; they can also set specific ringtones for specific callers (or to set a tone for an entire folder of contacts).

Instructions

1. Navigate to the music file you want transferred to a ringtone. Click the "Options" key and select to "Move" it to a folder in the "Name Ringer" menu.

2. Navigate to your Contacts list. Highlight the desired contact (or folder of contacts) you want to change the ringtone for.

3. Click "Options" and "Edit Contact." Press the "Menu/OK" button and select the ringer menu or folder that you transferred your music to. Select your ringer, click "Menu/OK" and press the "Done" button to save your changes.
