How to Mold Chocolate Flowers
If you love molded chocolate candies from the candy store, you might be surprised how easy they are to make at home. Visit the craft store and look through the selection of candy molds. Molds for chocolate candies come in all styles. You can make daisies or roses, add leaves and make layered confections. Chocolate melts and re-hardens without much effort so with a little imagination, you will awe your family and friends by creating handmade delicacies. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Chocolate
- Stove
- Microwave
- Heat-resistant measuring cup
- Long-handled spoon
- Molds
- Freezer

Stovetop Method

Melt your chocolate on the stovetop using a low temperature. Stir occasionally. Do not allow the chocolate to scorch.

Fill the molds as soon as the chocolate melts. As chocolate cools, it will harden again.

Place the molds in the freezer for 15 minutes. Once solid, the chocolate will pop out of the molds.

Follow the same method to make leaves. Melt white chocolate on the stove. As the chocolate melts, stir in green food coloring. Pour the mixture into leaf molds and put them in the freezer. Pop the molded chocolate out when it's solid and pair it with your flower candies for a layered look.
Microwave Method

Place chocolate in a heat-resistant measuring cup. A two-cup container will hold approximately one pound of chocolate.

Set the microwave to 50 percent and heat the chocolate for 30 seconds.

Remove the cup from the oven and stir the chocolate. Repeat the process, stirring every 30 seconds until the chocolate melts completely.

Pour the melted chocolate into the molds and place them in the freezer for 15 minutes. Remove the molds after 15 minutes and pop the chocolate out. Decorate the chocolate flowers as you wish.

Tips & Warnings
The type chocolate you use is up to you. Some possible choices include dark, milk, semisweet or white chocolate.
