Attaching a keyboard and monitor to a Mac Mini is fairly simple.

After purchasing a Mac Mini from Apple, you are probably wondering what to use for a keyboard and a monitor, since neither comes packaged with the computer. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get rolling on the Mac Mini, do not throw or give away your old Mac screen or keyboard since they will both work with your new computer. With about 10 minutes of time, you will be able to hook up your old keyboard and monitor to your Mac Mini.

      Turn off and unplug all devices.

      Insert the monitor cable's rectangular plug into the white cable adapter that comes with the Mac Mini. Tighten the screws at each end.

      Plug the cable adapter into the horizontal slot in the back of the Mac Mini. It slides right in to the slot. Use the turning wheels on each side of the adapter to screw it into place.

      Plug your keyboard into a USB slot on the back of the Mac Mini. If your keyboard connects with a green PS/2 plug, you will need a USB PS/2 adapter. In that case, plug the green end of the keyboard cord into the USB PS/2 adapter. Plug the other end of the USB PS/2 cord into one of USB slot in the back of the Mac Mini.

      Plug in your monitor and turn on your Mac Mini. If your monitor and or keyboard has software, insert the disc or discs, then follow the installation instructions.
