How to Open a Lotus Notes Email File in Windows

Lotus Notes is an email program that works well with Microsoft and Windows settings. You can do all of your mailings with Lotus Notes, but you might also like to open up a Lotus Notes Email file within Windows. Lotus Notes might not always open on your computer, but using the "open with" function will allow you to open up any email message.

Instructions

1. Click on your email program and open it up. If you aren't running a newer version of Windows, the email program might only open up partially. Outlook, and other types of email system like it, are client email systems that allow you to use a computer based email system that is sometimes more in depth than web emails.

2. Click on the email file you would like to open with a right click instead of a left click. Do this with the email program open, but understand that you are not doing this inside of your email program. You will be clicking on this separately.

3. Select "Open With" from the list.

4. Choose a corresponding program to open up the file, depending on the file. For instance, choose Microsoft Picture Viewer if the file you are trying to open is a photo file. Choose a Word document or a text file if the email file you are trying to open is a text file.
