How to Use a Pistol Grease Gun
Grease fittings on cars, trucks, ATVs and RVs require the addition of grease to the system at least once a year to keep the parts thoroughly lubricated and in good working order. Several grease fittings are on each vehicle, including the wheel hubs so that the wheels turn fluidly while in operation. A pistol grease gun may use pre-filled cartridges or may load from bulk grease out of a container.
Instructions

1
Push the coupler on the end of the pistol grease gun's extension pipe or hose onto a grease fitting. When the coupler makes contact with the fitting, an internal ball pushes back inside the fitting to allow the introduction of grease into the fittings and lines.
-
2
Squeeze the pistol grip to add grease to the fitting. Squeeze the trigger until an excess of grease backflows out of the fitting to signify that the fitting is full.
-
-
3
Pull the coupler off the fitting and grease all other fittings on the vehicle. The internal ball in the grease fitting will close the grease-fitting opening when you pull the coupler off.

Tips & Warnings
To assure proper function of a pistol grease gun, always expel excess air in the gun when you either add a new cartridge or bulk-fill the tool. Pump the handle after expelling excess air until a steady flow of grease comes out of the coupler before using so that air does not enter into the lubrication system.
A pistol grease gun requires less pressure to operate and a minimal motion compared to a standard lever-type grease gun. Pistol grease guns are useful for professionals who use them often because of the ease of operation and the cushioned handle.
