How to Extract a Video From a .Bin File Extension

A .bin file is simply a Unix directory that can hold many types of files, including audio, video, programs or computer drivers. Extracting a video from a .bin file requires a program that can "mount" the directory and isolate specific items. There are a number of programs you can download to perform these extractions, since your computer may not come with a program that opens binary files. You may extract your .bin files with these programs from either a CD or a stand-alone file on your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your software after downloading and installing the desired program (see Resources). Direct your program to the .bin file by clicking the "Open" button and locating the file in the pop-up window. If using MagicDisc, you will need to right-click the icon at the bottom of your screen on your PC's tray icon.

    • 2

Select the driver (.bin file) you need to access and double-click or choose to "Mount" it.

    • 3

Navigate the .bin file's image and locate and highlight the desired video. Click "OK" or "Extract" to begin the extraction.

Tips & Warnings

  • These programs can be used to mount or extract a number of popular directory types, including DVD disk images (ISOs) and Zip or RAR files.
