How to Upgrade SonicWall
SonicWall is network security software. Like any such software, it needs upgrading from time to time. You can accomplish this with a software update, which simply involves downloading and installing an update file from the company's website.

Go to the SonicWall North American website (see Resources).

Hold your cursor over the "Support" tab, then select the "Downloads" option.

Enter your login information in the username or email address field and the password field. Click the "Submit" button to log in to your account.

Go to the "Downloads" section and select "Type." This will display a drop-down list. Select your SonicWall product from this list.

Select an available update from the "Available Software" list. Save the file to your computer.

Double-click on the downloaded file and move the ".bin" and ".bin.md5" files to the desktop.

Double-click the AMC icon on your desktop. This will launch the Aventail Management Console.

Select "Maintenance" from the navigation menu. Click the "Update" option from the System Software updates section.

Click the "Browse" button and locate the update files on the desktop.

Select the ".bin" file, then click the "Open" button. Click the "Install Update" button and wait while the update file is processed. Repeat this step for the ".bin.md5" file.

Tips & Warnings
If you cannot open the downloaded file, you may need an unzipping program such as WinZip.
If there is no update available, you will not be able to upgrade your SonicWall product.
