How to Get Better Registry on Counter Strike

Counterstrike is a popular first-person shooter played online. As players can "die" with just one to two hits from an opposing team member, it's important to make every bullet you fire count. Improving your "registry" (the percentage of shots fired that are accurately detected by the game server) is a process of tweaking your Internet settings within the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Join an online server and press the "~" key to bring up your console.

    • 2

Type in "net_graph 3" and press "Enter."

    • 3

Open the console again and type in "cl_updaterate 100" and press "Enter."

    • 4

Open the console again and type in "cl_cmdrate 100" and press "Enter."

    • 5

Play for a while and look at the netgraph reading on your screen to determine whether you are getting "choke" or "loss."

    • 6

Lower your "cl_updaterate" and "cl_cmdrate" settings by five points each if you are getting loss.

    • 7

Repeat Steps 5 and 6 again until your choke and loss rates remain at or close to zero.
