1
Wrap the yarn around your fingers. Use two fingers to make a small pom pom, three fingers to make a medium-size pom pom and four fingers to make a large pom pom. Do not wrap the yarn so tightly that you cannot slip it off your fingers when you finish wrapping.
-
2
Count the wraps as you wind the yarn. Continue wrapping until you have wound the yarn around your fingers about 100 times.
-
-
3
Clip the yarn with the scissors.
-
4
Slide the wrapped yarn from your hand, taking care not to unwind the yarn as you slide it off.
-
5
Cut an 8-inch length of matching yarn and insert this piece of yarn through the center of the wrapped yarn.
-
6
Bring the tails of the piece of yarn together around the wrapped yarn and tie it as tightly as possible into a double knot. Leave the tails from this yarn piece extending out from the pom pom to use to attach the pom pom to your project.
-
7
Cut the yarn loops with the scissors, making sure you cut them evenly so the yarn pom pom is an even length around the entire perimeter of the pom pom.
-
8
Attach the pom pom to your project with the tails from the yarn piece. Thread the yarn through a yarn needle and sew the pom pom to any project.
