Instructions

    • 1

Insert a nail into the length of the apple. Push the nail down the length of the apple beside the core to make the apple easier to wire.

    • 2

Cut the apples across the core. Keep the thickness no larger than 1/8th of an inch.

    • 3

Treat the apples to keep them from browning. Soak them in 1 tsp. of lemon juice and 1 quart of water. Soak them for 15 minutes, and dry them off on paper towels.

    • 4

Place the apples on drying trays. Sprinkle them lightly with cinnamon and nutmeg.

    • 5

Place the drying trays in the food dehydrator. Follow the food dehydrator's manual to dehydrate the apples at the right setting. They will take 6 to 12 hours to dry.

    • 6

String the apples on the craft wire. Form the wire into a circle, and when you finish adding the apples, twist the wire to form a hook.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add embellishments to the apple wreath. Add bows or ribbon to hide the craft wire hook.

  • Spray the wreath with matte spray to preserve it.
