How to Solar Charge a MacBook

Like any laptop, MacBooks require a steady supply of power. While Apple's laptops are known for having exceptional battery life, lasting upwards of eight hours, eventually you will have to recharge the battery. If you find yourself in need of recharging your MacBook but are away from a power outlet, you can charge it with a solar charger. Doing so is as easy as plugging the charger into your MacBook.

Instructions

    • 1

Power down your MacBook so that charging the battery takes less time.

    • 2

Plug your laptop solar charger into the power outlet on the MacBook.

    • 3

Rest your solar charger and MacBook next to an open window and allow it to charge.

Tips & Warnings

  • Allow a few hours (three to four) for the laptop to fully charge.

  • You can still use your MacBook while a solar charger is connected, but the charge from the solar charger will not be enough to offset the power consumption by the MacBook. At best, you will slow the battery drainage.
