How to Build Manual Deer Feeders
People who live in woodland areas grow very accustomed to seeing deer in their backyard and neighborhood. Many people wish to help out these peaceful animals in the fall and winter months when food is scarce for them. The easiest way to do this is to build a backyard deer feeder. Not only is this project very simple to build, it will allow you to watch these graceful animals from a distance while they are eating. The hardest part of the deer feeder is not building it, but rather keeping it stocked full of food for the deer. Deer will quickly empty all the food in the feeder, especially if they get into a pattern of visiting it often. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Poke holes in the bottom of the square container with scissors. These holes will ensure the container does not fill with water when it rains.
-
2
Saw a 2-inch by 3-inch slot into the bottom of one of the ends of the PVC pipe. If the plastic is weak enough, you can cut this slot with scissors.

3
Glue or tape the PVC pipe and container together, aiming the slot into the center of the square container.

4
Tie the feeder to a tree so that the deer will not knock it over. Pour corn into the top of the PVC pipe. The pipe will act as a dispenser, gradually allowing more corn to enter the trough as the deer eat it.
