How to Lock a Blackberry Keyboard
You don't want to accidentally dial someone while your phone is in your pocket or purse. Thankfully, you can lock the BlackBerry's keyboard so this doesn't happen. Locking your keyboard will keep you from dialing out and from doing anything else on your phone until you unlock the screen. By using a series of keys, set by default by BlackBerry, you can easily unlock the phone again.

Press the BlackBerry button on the keypad. This is located left of the trackball and opens the main application menu for the phone.

Scroll to and select the "Keyboard Lock" or "Lock" icon. Your screen will turn off, and when you press a button you will not be able to type anything. You will see an icon of a lock in one of the corners.

Unlock the phone by typing your security password you assigned to the phone, or by pressing "*" and the "Send" button simultaneously if you did not create a password.
