How to Display an American Flag Memorial
Federal law designates how a flag should be displayed. An example would be that the American flag should be lighted at all times, even at night. This is called Flag Code. When a flag is being displayed during a memorial, there is etiquette that applies as well. You can display a flag when a casket is open and when it's closed. Flag Code says that an American flag should be displayed when someone from the military or a veteran dies.
