How to Download a Firefox Browser

Firefox is the Web browser used by more than a quarter of Web users worldwide as of December 2011, according to StatCounter. One reason Firefox is popular is the variety of downloadable add-ons for it. Add-ons can improve security, add functionality or just be fun. Another reason is that Firefox is typically faster than Internet Explorer, as demonstrated in tests by CNet's Seth Rosenblatt in March 2011.

Instructions

1. Visit the Firefox System Requirements page and ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for installation.

2. Visit Mozilla's Get Firefox Web page.

3. Click the link that says “Free Download” to automatically begin downloading Firefox.

4. Choose to “Run” the installation program when prompted.

5. Follow the on-screen setup prompts and select “Standard” installation.

6. Click “Finish” when the install is complete.

Tips & Warnings

• The Firefox installation process adds a shortcut to your Windows desktop automatically. Double-click it to browse the Web in Firefox.
