3
Use your napkin throughout the meal to dab your mouth. Blot your mouth before taking a drink to make sure that food doesn't fall into your glass, and also before you speak.

4
If you must excuse yourself during a meal, place your napkin on your chair or to the left of your plate. This indicates that you are not done and will be retuning.
-
5
Use your napkin if you belch, to cover your mouth. You can say, "Pardon me" or "Excuse me" quietly so as not to draw attention away from the host.
-
6
Keep your napkin throughout the meal. At the end of the meal, fold your napkin into quarters and place it to the right of your serving plate. This indicates that you are finished.

Tips & Warnings
You should open a specially folded napkin (the kind you may find at a formal meal) into a triangle. The point of the triangle should be facing you so that crumbs that fall down can be caught by the long end of the napkin.
