  • Underlining
  • Roofing nails
  • Roof adhesive
  • Wooden batten strips
  • Chalk
  • Spanish tiles

Instructions

    • 1

      Lay the underlining on the roof, if the roof does not already have underlining in place. Attach the underlining to the roof structure with roofing nails and adhesive.

      Place the wooden batten strips on the roof underlining, spacing them out with enough room between them to place the individual tiles. Nail down the wooden batten strips to the roof underlining.

      Draw horizontal and vertical chalk lines on the roof to indicate the pattern of the tiles. The chalk will help you line up the tiles properly.

      Hang the tiles by their lugs onto the wooden battens beginning at the lower edge of the roof, working upward. Continue overlapping each new row over the ones below. Examine the tiles every so often to make sure they are laid evenly.
