How to Set the Time on a Rolex Datejust

Rolex sells high-quality, luxury watches. The first Rolex Datejust was introduced to the market in 1945. Available for both women and men, the self-winding watch is water resistant down to depths as low as 330 feet and available in various combinations of steel, white gold, yellow gold and Everose gold. Setting the time and date on the Rolex Datejust does not require any special tools or knowledge. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the crown out to the last notch. The crown is on the right side of the watch directly across from the date field on the face.

    • 2

Turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise to reset the hour and minute hands. The second hand stops and will restart when the crown is screwed back down into the “wearing position.”

    • 3

Screw the crown back down to the “wearing position” once you have set the time on the watch.

Tips & Warnings

  • The “wearing position” is when the crown is completely screwed down and is flush against the side of the watch.

  • Set the date by unscrewing the crown out to the second notch. Turn the crown clockwise to advance to the date you desire. The watch will continue to tell time while the crown is in this position.

  • If you need to hand wind the watch, unscrew the crown to the first notch and turn.
