Make tie pillows using polar fleece.

If you prefer fast and simple projects with a minimum of effort, polar fleece is a fabric you probably use often. Because polar fleece does not require hemming, this fabric is ideal for using when you desire a quick no-sew project. Cover a pillow form with polar fleece to make a tie pillow. In less than an hour, you can have a soft and cozy pillow using few materials and supplies.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut two identical 25-inch squares of polar fleece with the scissors.

    • 2

Place the two squares of fleece on top of each other with the right sides facing out. Align the edges and corners perfectly.

    • 3

Cut 5-inch-wide notches out of each of the four corners, cutting through both layers of polar fleece. Use the corners for another crafting project.

    • 4

Cut 5-inch-long fringes along each of the four edges between the corners you removed in Step 3. Cut through both layers of polar fleece. Space the fringe cuts with 3/4-inch between each cut.

    • 5

Lift the top layer of fleece carefully and insert the pillow form between the two pieces of fleece. Center the pillow form to align it perfectly between all four edges.

    • 6

Tie the top and bottom fringes together around the pillow form. Align each top fringe with the bottom fringe directly below it and tie the fringe pieces in a tight double knot. Work your way around all four corners of the pillow to enclose the pillow form between the two pieces of polar fleece to finish the tie pillow.

Tips & Warnings

  • Alternatively, use a smaller pillow form and smaller squares of fleece or a larger pillow form and larger squares of fleece. Make sure your fleece squares are approximately 9 inches larger than your pillow form for best results.
