Crochet Instructions for Scarves
Crocheting is the perfect hobby for people who enjoy focused work. You can work crochet in a car, at your desk, on a break or in a waiting room. Crocheted scarves are one of the easiest crafts you can make. Once you know the basics of crocheting, creating a scarf will be a cinch.

1
Tie a slipknot around the hook.
-
2
Chain the yarn eighteen times. Make the chain stitches by holding the hook in your right hand and holding the yarn on your left hand. Turn the hook under the yarn and catch the yarn on the hook. This is called a "yarn over." Pull the yarn over into the loop on the hook. This is one stitch. Repeat this step 18 times.

3
Make a double chain by pushing the crochet hook into the fourth chain from the hook. Now wrap the yarn over the hook. Pull the third loop through the first two. Add a loop to the hook. Pull the loop through the first loop on the hook. This is a double crochet.
-
4
Make three more stitches on your chain. Turn the work to the other side and add a double chain to the previous double chain. Follow the pattern you made in the first row. Repeat this row until the scarf is as long as you want it.
-
5
Finish the scarf by cutting the yarn. Leave a yarn tail of two inches hanging. Thread the tail through the last loop. Cinch the yarn tightly. Weave the remaining yarn through the work to camouflage it.
