Water-based lubricant glides on with ease and doesn't leave a sticky residue. It's useful for intimate situations when you can't form your own moisture. Making your own water-based lubricant at home is easy to accomplish with a limited amount of time and materials. This gives you more time to enjoy yourself while spending less than you would on expensive commercial lubricants.

Step 1

Add the aloe vera gel to the plastic bottle.

Step 2

Add the coconut oil and polysorbate 20 to the bottle. Polysorbate 20 emulsifies oil and water.

Step 3

Add the silk protein extract. This creates a silky glide that resists drying.

Step 4

Secure the bottle and shake it vigorously. The materials will blend to create a thin, water-feeling gel. The gel doesn't dry easily and allows for slick lubrication.
