How to Play PC Games on Macs
It is a well-known fact that most PC games aren't playable on Mac computers. This is a combination of operating system incompatibility and hardware limitations. But even with these limitations, there is a way to run PC games on a Mac computer. It requires emulation software and ten minutes of your time.
Things You'll Need
- iEmulator software
- Floppy disk or flash drive
- Windows 98/XP Installation Disk
Instructions
-
-
1
Download the iEmulator software and save it to where it can be easily accessible, such as the desktop.
-
2
Open the iEmulator installer and follow the instructions to get the software installed on your computer.
-
-
3
Save the DOS operating system to a floppy disk (or, if possible, a USB drive). Later versions of iEmulator come with this disk.
-
4
Run the file on the floppy disk. This will open a version of DOS inside of OS X that will allow you to run other PC-based programs.
-
5
Use DOS to install Windows on the Mac. This is a long process, so step away from the computer for a bit while the OS installs. Once complete, restart your Mac.
-
6
Open iEmulator and open Windows from inside of it. You may now use your Mac to install PC games onto the Windows partition that is now on the hard drive.
