How to Change Ink Cartridges in a Hewlett Packard 7310
The HP Officejet 7310 is an all-in-one business printer with the ability to print documents and photos, scan, make copies and operate as a fax machine. If you are printing a large number of documents, faxes and copies with your Officejet 7310, you may find that print quality begins to suffer as the unit's ink supply gets low. Change the ink cartridges in your Officejet 7310 when this happens.
Things You'll Need
- HP 94 or 96 black ink cartridge
- HP 95 or 97 color ink cartridge
- HP 99 photo ink cartridge (optional)
- HP 100 gray photo ink cartridge (optional)

1
Make sure that the Officejet 7310 is turned on, then lift the entire top half of the printer open--including the scanner bed. When the top door of the printer is fully open, it snaps into place so it does not need to be held. This exposes the internals of the printer. Wait for the parts on the inside to stop moving before you continue.

2
Press down on the plastic cover for one of the ink cartridges. The cover opens, exposing the black ink cartridge on the right or the color cartridge on the left. Press the cartridge down, then slide it horizontally out of the holder.

3
Unpack the replacement for the ink cartridge that you removed. Remove it from the foil pouch and peel the protective film from the contact plate and ink nozzles. Avoid touching anything under the film.
-
4
Align the ink cartridge with the plastic guide rails leading into the cartridge holder. Push the cartridge along the rails until it snaps into the holder, then lower the plastic cover.
-
5
Replace the second ink cartridge, if necessary, using the same methods as described above.
-
6
Close the top lid of the Officejet 7310 to resume using the printer.
