Replace the rear left bulb in your Dodge Caravan.

While driving around town, you may notice that a tail light has burned out. It's not worth taking the car into the shop to get a replacement when you can order the bulb and do the job yourself. The 2002 Dodge Caravan uses bulb number 3057 for the tail lights. Order a replacement bulb and get your tail lights working again or risk getting pulled over and given a ticket. Bulbs can be ordered directly from Dodge or from a parts dealer.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the Caravan engine and make sure the lights are off.

    • 2

Open the back hatch (or lift gate) and locate the two fasteners on the inside left frame.

    • 3

Remove the fasteners by prying them out with a flat head screwdriver, or using a pair of pliers. With enough force, the fasteners will come straight out (they are not screws).

    • 4

Pull out the lamp housing from the Caravan.

    • 5

Squeeze the socket assembly tabs on the bulb that needs to be replaced, and pull to expose the bulb.

    • 6

Pull out the bulb and replace it with a new one. The rear light assembly has several lights: rear tail, stop, turn signal, side marker and back-up lights. All use bulb number 3057.

    • 7

Reconnect the socket and put the lamp housing back into the Caravan.
