DIY: Fleece Blanket

Make a super soft fleece blanket.

Fleece blankets are an inexpensive and comfortable type of bedding. They are soft and warm, but fleece itself is an inexpensive material. Fleece blankets make excellent gifts, especially when they are homemade. You can make your own fleece blankets to use at home or to give away as gifts without sewing at all. You will need to know how to assemble and secure your blanket to get started.

Things You'll Need

• Piece of fleece, 12 feet by 6 feet
• Tape measure
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Fold your piece of fleece in half along the 12-foot side so that you have a 6-foot by 6-foot square.

2. Lay the fleece on a flat surface with the folded edge at the top.

3. Cut 4-inch slits along the sides and bottom of the fleece square with your scissors. Leave an inch between cuts and cut through both layers of fleece each time. This will create a fringe around three sides of the blanket.

4. Knot the fleece fringe together all the way around the blanket. To do this, grab the strips made from each cut (top layer and bottom layer together) and knot them together to hold the panels of fleece together.
