  1. Make a Card in Publisher 2003

    • 1

      Start Microsoft Publisher. Click "Publications for Print" in the "New Publications" task pane on the left of the Publisher window. Click "Greeting Cards" and select a theme or holiday.

      Click on the greeting card template from which you want to create a card. The template opens as a new Publisher file.

      Select a layout option under "Design." Select the size of the card you want to print and the type of fold you want to use under "Page Options." If you wish to use a different font or color scheme, select options under "Color Schemes" or "Font Schemes."

      Click on the placeholder containing text. To type your own text, select the suggested text and type over it. To select a different suggested verse, click "Select a Suggested Verse" at the bottom of the "Options" task pane. Choose a category from which to choose, click the text you like and click "OK."

      Click on a picture in the card template to replace it with an image of your own. Right-click and select "Change Picture." Click "Browse" and locate the image on your computer that you want to use. Click "Insert."

      Click the "Print Preview" button on the toolbar to see how your card will look. Click "Close" to go back to the template. Make any changes desired. Save and print the greeting card.

      Start Microsoft Publisher. Select "Greeting Cards" in the "Available Publications" list that opens.

      Select a theme, holiday or other category from which to choose a template. Click on a template to preview it in the right pane of the window. When you find a template you wish to use, click the "Download" button. The template opens as a new Publisher file.

      Choose a different color scheme or font scheme in the "Customize" section if desired. Change the page size or fold in the "Page Setup" dialog box.

      Click on a picture in the card template if you want to change it. Right-click and select "Change Picture." Select "Clip Art" to replace the picture with a clip art image or select "From File" to use an image on your computer. Locate the image you want to use and click "Insert."
