You can easily fix your errors in order to run Alien Vs. Predator properly.

"Alien Vs. Predator" is a PC game based off the Aliens and Predator science fiction franchises. The game is one of the early-shooters released in the late 90's and offered three campaigns to choose from: Alien, Predator or Human. The game was known to run into several start-up issues, with the major dilemma being its executable file being named the same as a Windows XP component. Another major issue was the choppy or looping sound that would stick after playing the intro movie. Fortunately, both of these dilemmas have easy-to-fix solutions.

Instructions

  1. Choppy or Slow Running Game

    • 1

Navigate to your Alien Vs. Predator game folder in your computer. If you installed it with default settings, you should find it by going into your primary directory (defaulted to the "C" drive), then into "Program Files." Locate the game folder then double-click to open it.

    • 2

Navigate to the executable file called "avp.exe" and right-click on it. At the drop-down menu, click on "Rename."

    • 3

Rename the "avp.exe" file to whatever name you wish. A typical suggestion would be to rename it "avpgame.exe" to easily find it again. Once you've renamed the executable file, press "Enter" to save the changes.
