Send and receive instant messages for free using eBuddy.

Many cell phones have the ability to send and receive instant messages. In order to use these capabilities, you must purchase a text messaging plan, as instant messages are counted as texts. A text messaging plan is not always affordable, however. With Verizon Wireless, a text messaging plan can cost as much as $20. But there is a way to send and receive unlimited instant messages without paying for a text messaging plan. EBuddy, which is free, allows you to access various instant messaging services, including AIM, MSN and Yahoo Messenger, directly through your Verizon Wireless phone's web browser.
