Instructions

    • 1

Measure and draw three 6-inch squares on the back of the needlepoint canvas.

    • 2

Cut each square out of the plastic canvas with the scissors.

    • 3

Thread the tapestry needle with a 15-inch length of tapestry wool. Stitch around each of the four edges of each square with the tapestry wool to cover the edges of the plastic canvas. Insert the needle up from the backside of the plastic canvas two holes from the edge of the canvas. Pull the thread around the edge of the plastic canvas and come up from the backside of the canvas in the hole immediately to the right of the first hole you came up. Continue whip-stitching around the four sides of the square in the same way. Whipstitch each of the three squares in the same fashion.

    • 4

Place the three squares together so they form a three-sided triangle shape.

    • 5

Thread the tapestry needle with another 15-inch length of tapestry wool and stitch the three squares together along the edges as you have them aligned to form the triangle shape. Start the stitching by inserting the needle through the plastic canvas from the inside of the triangle shape and take a stitch over both pieces of canvas where they butt up against each other. Stitch the two edges together from the bottom to the top, knot the thread and cut off the excess thread. Stitch the remaining two corners of the triangle shape in the same fashion.

    • 6

Place the triangle shape onto your dresser so the open edges are at the top and bottom. Insert your earrings into the three sides of the triangle in the center areas of the white plastic canvas.
