How to Create a Free Email Address on Yahoo

Creating a free email address on Yahoo! is actually fairly simple. It only takes a few steps to create an email address, send and receive emails, customize your homepage, customize the news for you, chat with Yahoo! messenger and even send a text message through the messenger service. If you already have a Facebook, AOL, Outlook or Hotmail ID, Yahoo! messenger lets you easily import those contacts into your new Yahoo! email address so you can start sending emails right away.

Instructions

1. Go to Yahoo!'s homepage, www.yahoo.com. Type "yahoo mail" into the search engine and click search. The first search result is mail from yahoo; the web address will be "mail.yahoo.com." Once you are on this page, near the bottom left will be a box that says "Don't have a Yahoo! ID? Sign up." Click the sign-up button and enter your information to create your new email address.

2. An alternative to step one, go to www.yahoo.com. Click on "New here? Sign Up" near the top right of the web page. Enter your information to create your new email address.

3. After you have complete either step one or step two, click "Create My Account." A new page will come up saying "Congratulations, Your name." Review your account details and remember to write down the security question answers. Once you have reviewed the information, click the "Continue" button on the right-hand side.
