Record your video onto a CD.

If you want to back up a video from your computer and you don't have a DVD player, you may opt for recording the video content on a CD. Although a CD can't hold nearly as much information as a DVD, it is still an inexpensive way to store important information. It is especially important to backup videos onto a CD to prevent any data loss in the event of a hard drive failure in the future.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the blank CD into the CD burner on your computer. Close out any prompts that ask you to load unneeded programs.

    • 2

Launch the CD burning software. When the software loads, select "Video CD." This allows you to watch the video content from the CD on most DVD players. However, if you only want to back up the video and possibly import the content onto a different computer, select "Data CD."

    • 3

Click and drag the video files into the main viewing area of the CD burning software, or click "File," "Add File" and choose the video files.

    • 4

Click "Burn," and the video files will be recorded to the CD.
