Obtain a degree in health or nutrition. Building your academic background in health and wellness helps you become credible and competitive. Take psychology classes, as well, because they will help you in your capacity as lifestyle coach.

Train as a wellness coordinator and earn certification. Many city departments provide wellness-coordinator training programs, and they may offer certification. These are conference-style sessions where you attend seminars and workshops to gain knowledge and network with other wellness professionals.
