How to Install Peachtree Accounting

You can install Peachtree Accounting with either a CD or downloaded application.

Peachtree Accounting offers the choice of installing their software from a CD or downloading it from the Peachtree site. Peachtree is also versatile in the installation process--you can install Peachtree as a standalone product for one computer or a networked product. The difference lies in the installation process and where you store the company data.

Instructions

For Standalone and Network

1. Close any programs, including virus or firewall programs.

2. Insert the Peachtree disk in your optical drive to reach the Peachtree "Autorun" window. If "Autorun" does not appear, click the "Start" button and select "My Computer," then double-click the optical drive.

3. Choose the Peachtree Accounting install option.
   Read the information and instructions, then select "Next."
   Read and accept the License Agreement, then select "Next."

4. Read the prompt screens and follow the directions.

5. Enter the serial number that is found on the CD sleeve, or in the confirmation email. Choose "Next."

6. Choose the setup, Standalone or Network.

For Standalone

1. Select "Yes" for Standalone. This will make sure you install correctly for single-user setup. Choose "Next."

2. Choose "Yes" to the question "Will you store Peachtree company data on this computer?" Choose "Next."

3. Choose the path to store the Peachtree program file. Choose "Browse" if you do not want the default location. Enter the path you want and choose "Next." Or choose "Next" to accept the default.

4. Review the choices you have made, and choose "Back" to make any changes. Choose "Next" to begin the installation. Peachtree will prompt you when the installation in complete.

For Network installation

1. Install Peachtree FIRST on the computer that will store the Peachtree company data files.

2. At step 6, offering a choice of Standalone or Network, choose Network. Use the network drive to install the program files and the company files.

3. Complete the installation on the networked drive following the above instructions.

4. Install Peachtree on each computer that will use the program. Choose the C drive of the individual computer for the program files. Choose the "Network" drive as the path for the company files.
   This will ensure that only one company file can be used to input your company data.

Tips & Warnings

• Enable them after the installation.

• Be sure to follow directions for any notifications about firewall or anti-virus programs.

• Be sure to close all additional programs before starting the installation process.
