Instructions

    • 1

Measure your room from the floor to the ceiling, using the measuring tape.

    • 2

Purchase an embroidery hoop as the frame to assemble the canopy. Purchase fabric material for the actual canopy. The material should be purchased in twice the height of the room, plus two feet.

    • 3

Take out the inner, smaller circle of the embroidery hoop.

    • 4

Place your fabric onto a clean surface so that it lays flat. Place the inner circle under and in the middle of the fabric. Gently place the outer, larger circle on top of the inner circle with the fabric between the two hoops. Pull two feet of fabric through the outer circle. Push the outer circle down onto the inner circle to hold the fabric in place.

    • 5

Thread fishing line through the top portion of the fabric that was pulled through the outer circle. Tie the line into a knot.

    • 6

Choose the area above your bed where you'd like to hang the assembled canopy. The canopy should be centered over the bed; the canopy should also be placed far enough from the wall so that the canopy doesn't touch the wall. Mark the area where the assembled canopy is to be hung with a pencil.

    • 7

Screw in the screw hook at the marked point on the ceiling.

    • 8

Pull the assembled canopy to the hook. Secure the fishing line to the hook by tying it into a double knot. Fix the canopy so the opening of the fabric is at the foot of the bed.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a more inexpensive canopy, use tulle. Tulle is very inexpensive and can be purchase in large bolts.
