The BlackBerry 8800 series of smart phones are equipped with a plethora of features, including Email, a media player and GPS. Another feature, which is also available on most BlackBerry models, is the ability to set a password. Putting a password on your BlackBerry is a good way to keep your private information secure from others. However, it can become tedious unlocking your home screen with a password constantly. Luckily, removing your BlackBerry 8800 password is just as simple as adding.

Instructions

      Type in your password to unlock your BlackBerry.

      Select the wrench icon, labeled "Options," from the home screen. Some devices may have the wrench icon in the "Settings" folder, which is also located on the home screen. An extensive list of device options will be displayed.

      Scroll down to "Security Options" and click on it. This opens another menu with a list of new options.

      Select "General Settings" from the top of the list. Notice that a new set of options opens with "Password" located on the top.

      Click on the "Password" field and change "Enabled" to "Disabled." This removes the password.

Tips & Warnings

  • You cannot remove a password from your BlackBerry 8800 if the password is enforced by an Enterprise Server's IT policy.
