How to Make Small Table Gifts

How to Make Small Table Gifts thumbnail
Table gifts are generally small and easy to store.

Weddings and other formal events usually call for a table gift for all of your guests. It's usually something like a door prize, but it has more class and usually serves as a reminder of the special event. If you want to make a lasting impression with these little gifts, though, then you might consider making your own by hand. Remember to call a friend for help because the process might become a little lengthy.

Instructions

  1. Table gifts

    • 1

Take a meaningful image or several images of you and a group of loved ones. Make a copy of the image or images for every person who will receive a table gift. Shrink the images down to a two inch by three inch square unless it ruins the image quality. If it ruins the image quality, then make the photo the smallest size you can that still retains the clarity of the image.

    • 2

Put the images into simple picture frames. Use wooden frames, so you can glue on decorations.

    • 3

Attach decorations, such as seashells, around the outside of the frame. If you have a themed party, then use materials reminiscent of the theme. Attach the materials in any way that seems visually pleasing. Use clear super glue for a clean look.

    • 4

Set the frame aside to dry. The more glue you use to attach the materials, the longer it takes, so be patient.

    • 5

Cut out a square of fabric that is nine inches wide and nine inches tall. Use any color that you think looks good. It can be any fabric you enjoy, but silk might have the best visual effect. Cut a larger square of fabric if you need to use an image larger than three inches by two inches.

    • 6

Lay the picture frame onto the fabric square. Pile some rose petals or petals of another flower on top of the image. Do this close to the time when people will open their gifts so that the petals are still fresh.

    • 7

Cut a length of decorative ribbon about nine inches long. Pull the corners of the fabric square up and over the image and petals. Hold the corners together as a friend wraps the ribbon around the fabric, making it into a pouch that holds your table gift. Tie the ends of the ribbon into a decorative bow.

    • 8

Stick a decorative pin through the heart of the bow to make the hold more secure. Locate the sharp point once the pin is secure, and use a small piece of cork or some other material to blunt the sharp end.
