How to Make a FAMAS Marshmallow Gun
Great for parties, scout activities, or just everyday fun, FAMAS marshmallow guns are safe and easy to make. Supplies cost about $2.00. With a few simple tools and some PVC pipe, you can make these guns in less than 15 minutes. Kids love decorating the guns or adding parts to customize them.
Things You'll Need
- Safety goggles
- 4 feet of PVC pipe (1/2 inch, drinking water grade)
- 2 PVC elbow joints, 1/2 inch
- 2 PVC T joints, 1/2 inch
- 2 PVC end caps, 1/2 inch
- Pipe cutter or hacksaw
- Ruler
- Permanent marker

Wear safety goggles. Measure and mark six 5-inch sections of pipe and one 8-inch piece of pipe.

Cut the pipe on the markings with a pipe cutter or hacksaw.

Put one end of the 8-inch length of pipe into a T-joint. Put a 5-inch piece of PVC into the other two openings.

Put another T-joint on the end of the horizontal piece of 5-inch pipe. Turn this T-joint so it is positioned in the opposite direction of the first T-joint (facing up).

Insert 5-inch pieces of pipe in the other two ends of the T-joint.

Hook an elbow joint to the ends of the pipe you just used. Insert a 5-inch piece of pipe into each elbow joint.

Put end joints on the two vertical pieces of pipe.

Tips & Warnings
Supervise children when cutting the pipe.
Don't glue the pieces of pipe together. You'll need to take the gun apart occasionally to clean the chamber.
Put marshmallows in the mouthpiece of the gun (top part) and blow. Take a breath before putting your mouth on the mouthpiece, to avoid choking.
Put liquid soap on tight PVC pieces to make assembly easier
Block the leg passages with tissue paper to increase air pressure through the main channel.
Use the pipe cutters and hacksaw with care to avoid cuts.
