How to Fix Broken GameCube Controller

A common cause of broken controllers is when liquid, such as a soda or water, gets knocked over spilling into the controller. This may cause sticky and unresponsive buttons and will impede on normal gameplay. On the Nintendo GameCube controller, this is seen around the buttons and the control stick area. With just a toothbrush and some water, you will be able to repair your broken GameCube controllers to a functioning state.

Things You'll Need

• Toothbrush
• Paper towel

Instructions

1. Unplug the controller from your GameCube game console.

2. Dip the edge of the toothbrush's bristles into a cup of warm water. Make sure the toothbrush is clean, the water is not too hot and the toothbrush has a minimal amount of water on it.

3. Scrub around the edges of the buttons, control stick and joystick using the toothbrush.

4. Absorb the water on the controller with the paper towel. Press deeply around the edges of the buttons so that all excess water is absorbed.

5. Place the controller in a safe area for around six hours, allowing the controller plenty of time to dry. Plug the controller back into the GameCube and start a game to test it.
