How to Convert XP to Media Center
Windows XP comes in a variety of flavors, ranging from the basic Home edition to the top-of-the-line Media Center edition. Upgrading your current XP installation to the Media Center Edition will allow you to enjoy additional features such as Remote Desktop and the Media Center program for which the version is named. This can be done by performing an upgrade to your current XP installation.

Insert the Windows Media Center Edition CD into the computer.

Select the "Install" option.

Click on the "Upgrade" option. This will convert your XP installation without deleting your existing files.

Input your product ID to begin the auto-installation.
