How to Make a Prophetic Dreams Sachet
Pagan religions, like Wicca, use blends of herbs to perform the rituals of their faith. In the forms of charms, sachets, baths, oils and teas, the energy an herb possesses is used make changes in the world. Sachets also rely on the color of the material and the placement of the sachet to work properly. A prophetic dream sachet placed under your pillow is thought to encourage premonitions during sleep.
Things You'll Need
- Purple cloth, about 6 inches by 3 inches
- Needle
- Thread
- Batting or cotton balls
- 2 parts dried rose petals
- 1 part dried jasmine
- 1 part dried poppy leaves
- 1 part dried St. John's wort herb
- 2 parts dried mistletoe leaves
- 1 part whole rose hip berries
- 2 or 3 pieces of mandrake root
- Purple string (optional)

Fold the cloth swatch in half.

Thread the needle and sew two of the sides to form a bag, leaving one side open.

Flip the bag inside out so the sewn edges are inside the bag.

Fill the bag with batting, then with dried rose petals, dried jasmine, dried poppy leaves, dried St. John's wort, dried mistletoe leaves, whole rose hips and mandrake pieces. These ingredients are commonly associated with prophecy and sleep.

Sew the sachet closed or tie up the opening with purple string. Sleep with the sachet under your pillow.

Tips & Warnings
Even if you are not a practicing Pagan, herbs have uses in modern medicine, which incorporates many plants and herbs in drugs and other treatments.
Other herbs associated with sleep and dreams in Wicca tradition include hazel, lavender, marigold, agrimony, thyme, valerian and vervain.
