How to Lodge a Complaint Against a Lawyer in Ontario
When you enlist the services of an attorney or paralegal, you expect him to uphold certain standards. But sadly, lawyers can fall short of your expectations by being unprofessional or unethical. In Ontario, the Law Society of Upper Canada wants to hear any complaints you may have against a lawyer or paralegal.

Go to the "Complaining about a lawyer or paralegal" page of the Law Society of Upper Canada's website using the link in References.

Click on the link that reads "Complaint Form (PDF)" on the right-hand side of the screen.

Click "Yes" or "Preview" when asked if you would like to download the form.

Open the downloaded file and print all five pages.

Read the information provided on the first page. It discusses the confidentiality of the complaint and advises you where to send the form once you have filled it out.

Complete all four pages of the complaint form. Be sure to sign and date the last page.

Write the address provided on the first page of the form on a blank envelope. Also write your return address and affix the correct postage to the envelope.

Put the forms in the envelope, seal the envelope and place it in a mailbox.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have Internet access, call 416-947-3310 to reach the General Helpline for the Complaint Services Department of the Law Society of Upper Canada. You can request that a complaint form be mailed to your residence so that you can complete the form and return it.
