How to Replace a Brake Light Bulb on a 2001 Dodge Caravan

Replacing the brake light in a 2001 Dodge Caravan is quick and easy.

• Replacement brake bulb

Instructions

1. Open the lift gate on the rear of the vehicle.

2. Locate the light assembly along the frame of the vehicle. Pull out the two plastic locks with your fingers. Since these locks are not threaded, you will not need special tools to remove them.

3. Swing the light assembly out from the body of the vehicle on its hinges. Pull out the burned-out brake bulbs and insert the replacement bulbs.

4. Press the light assembly back into place. Press in the plastic assembly locks.

Tips & Warnings

• Since this is a simple task, consider replacing all of the brake lights every six months to avoid the possibility of driving around with a defective brake light.
