How to Replace a Brake Light Bulb on a 2001 Dodge Caravan
A faulty brake light can be a more significant road hazard than you might think. If a brake light has burned out, drivers behind you have less information available to help them stay a safe distance away from your vehicle. If you have a 2001 Dodge Caravan, changing a brake light is a quick and simple process. Most drivers should be able to change a brake light on this vehicle in about 10 minutes.

Open the lift gate on the rear of the vehicle.

Locate the light assembly along the frame of the vehicle. Pull out the two plastic locks with your fingers. Since these locks are not threaded, you will not need special tools to remove them.

Swing the light assembly out from the body of the vehicle on its hinges. Pull out the burned-out brake bulbs and insert the replacement bulbs.

Press the light assembly back into place. Press in the plastic assembly locks.

Tips & Warnings
Since this is a simple task, consider replacing all of the brake lights every six months to avoid the possibility of driving around with a defective brake light.
