How to Upgrade a 1.0 to 2.0 USB Port
Some older computers have a USB port that is outdated. If you want to upgrade your USB port from 1.0 to 2.0, you will need to perform a hardware upgrade, since 1.0 USB ports can't handle a software upgrade. Once you upgrade, your devices will perform faster and more efficiently. Having a 2.0 USB port is a necessity for many devices, such as cell phones and MP3 players. The process of installing a new USB port can be challenging if you have never installed hardware on your PC.
