How to Replace Ironman Watch Batteries

The Ironman brand of watches is known for its quality and durability, as well as the ability to count laps during running, biking or swimming. The battery will be exposed. If the battery has a sticker on the back, note the directions for watch resetting, including the location indicated. Remove the sticker from the battery and put it aside to attach to the new battery.

4
Remove the battery strap (which may include up to two screws), then detach the battery.

5
Replace the battery, close the battery strap and place the screw back in place.

6
Following the directions on the sticker from the old battery, reset the watch. This involves shorting the spot indicated by the battery sticker (often marked AC) with the + side of the battery. Use metal tweezers or a paperclip to short them together.

7
Place the sticker on the new battery in its original position, then replace the backplate on the watch. Screw the backplate on evenly, tightening in a criss-cross pattern to evenly distribute the force.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful not to allow any parts to fall out of place while replacing the battery.
If your Ironman is waterproof, be careful of any rubber o-ring under the backplate. Be sure this does not move while you reattach the backplate.
